Stay Virtuous reset Retreat

If you're a coach feeling stuck, burnt out, uninspired, like your passion is starting to fade or you have just gone through some shit and need a rest — this weekend is designed for you.

Have you been coaching CrossFit for years and are in need of some rest, guidance, direction or support? Or maybe you just love camping, coaching, CrossFit, and deep personal development.

This retreat isn’t about coaching drills or breaking down hip anatomy (though those are great tools). Instead, it's about giving yourself the time and space and tools to reflect, journal, connect, and reset in nature. Over three nights, you’ll experience guided discussions, simple and delicious home-cooked meals around a campfire, daily saunas and cold plunges, unique and useful discomfort, hiking, and uninterrupted time to just be—all facilitated by me personally.

To ensure a fully immersive experience, this will be a media-free retreat. Phones will be handed in upon arrival, though you can provide your family with an emergency contact number.

Upcoming Retreats: Aug 21st - 24th

I can't tell you how excited I am to offer this experience—bringing together my love for nature, personal growth, and human connection in one incredible weekend feels like a dream come true.

What are others saying about their retreat experience?

  • "The ‘Stay Virtuous Reset Retreat’ for coaches was so much more than I could have ever imagined. I thought it would be a fun adventure but the level of fun exceeded all expectations. Pat and Taz Barber treated us unbelievably well. The food was delicious, healthy, and catered to each person’s dietary needs. The warm bedtime cookies were to die for. The view was breath taking. We played like kids, we connected, we cried, and we laughed. This was an adventure that will forever be close to my heart. This is a MUST for ALL coaches and affiliate owners."

~Jess Laker, Owner of Persevere CrossFit

  • "Despite making my living from the precise use of language (I’m a lawyer in my ‘day job’), words fail me when I try to describe the weekend retreat. It is not hyperbole to say that it was life-changing. I pushed my limits; I gained new insights about myself; I rested; I made new friends; I giggled; and I sobbed. I got lost, and found my way again (and not just metaphorically). And I came away refreshed and recommitted to shaping my life to be what I want it to be, rather than just following the path laid out in front of me. I am so glad I went, and if you’re thinking of going, go. It’ll be one of the best things you can do for yourself."

    ~Liz Rover Bailey

  • "This retreat with Pat and Taz Barber was everything I didn’t know I needed. More than coaching, it was a powerful reset. It reconnected me with nature, community, purpose and with myself, and provided simplicity, depth, and real presence. From fireside conversations to solo journaling under the stars, it brought back clarity, confidence, and drive. If you’re a coach, a parent, or just a human trying to live with more intention, don’t overthink it. Get yourself into this space. It’s not a luxury. It’s what we need. Stay Virtuous."

    ~Regis Saalfeld

  • "This retreat gave me the mental space I’d been craving—but could never quite reach on my own under the weight of life’s nonstop demands. Pat and Taz made it a priority for me to truly rest, a gift I didn’t realize I needed so deeply. With Pat’s guidance and the support of the incredible friend-family I found that weekend, something in me finally unlocked. A part of myself I thought was lost came back —clear, grounded, and deeply connected. What I experienced hasn’t faded since returning home. I now move through life with a sense of calm and reflection that touches every facet of my day. I’ve done a lot of personal development over the past two years, but it was the intentional stillness and guided rest here that brought it all together. I reconnected with myself. I found clarity. I found peace."

~Julia Brown, Owner of CrossFit Tullahoma

  • "The Stay Virtuous Retreat was a life changing experience. I went to this retreat feeling burnt out and broken as an affiliate owner. I was physically and emotionally drained. While staying at the Pat Barber resort in the California mountains I met some of the best like-minded people who I now consider family. The adventures and conversations helped me rekindle my love for coaching and affiliate ownership. I now feel like a much happier and optimistic person and looking forward to helping as many people as possible. I should also add that the peaceful environment and the amazing food was a huge bonus."

~Nick Seiske, Owner of CrossFit Rohkeus

  • "When I signed up for the Stay Virtuous Retreat, it was because I had a great amount of respect for Pat Barber as a human, so I knew anything that he crafted and produced would be beneficial for my being. The retreat was more than beneficial; it was a saving grace. We spend so much time in our lives perseverating about the future or kicking ourselves for past mistakes and letting that take up mental space and energy. And then we fill so much more of our time with the back-to-back calendar packed days, thinking that we can't catch a break or a spare five minutes. As the days neared before the retreat, I kept thinking about how it was the hiatus I needed, to get away, remove myself from technology being in my face 24/7, and take a minute to breathe. There are not enough words in the dictionary to express the impact this retreat had on me. You have to experience it to understand the profound internal shift it creates. From the intentional structure of each day to the grounding presence of the group, every element of the Stay Virtuous Retreat was thoughtfully designed to create space—mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. I found myself slowing down, listening more deeply, and reconnecting with parts of myself that had been buried beneath the chaos of each day. It wasn’t about escaping my life—it was about returning to it with clarity, calm, and intention. Pat held space with such humility and wisdom, inviting honest reflection, meaningful connection, and, most importantly, a return to self. I left with tools I didn’t know I needed, friendships I didn’t know I was missing, and a sense of peace I've not experienced until now. If you’re even considering going—go. This retreat reminded me not just what it means to be a great coach or business owner, but of what it means to be fully human, and I’ll carry that with me always."

~Tanya Sammis, Owner of CrossFit Virilis
